Not For Chewers As others have stated this is not a toy for dogs obsessed with chewing. Of course I do not think of this as a chew toy rather I see it more as a tug toy. I keep all tug toys out of reach of my dog because she will usually chew them to death. So tug toys are only brought out for tugging. When this one arrived I thought this one would last given how rigid the rope is and the fact that plastic caps protect its ends. In other words the concept sounded good in theory. In practice it is difficult to use as a tug toy because it is not all that long and its plastic caps are not comfortable to grip.
Great Toy for Chewers Our dogs really love chew toys but most of them last less than a day. The DentATugs are our dogs' favorite toys and we love them because they last a long time. The plastic is very high impact so even our American Pit Bull Terrier can get lots of use before it's ready to be tossed.
Hmm. I bought one for each of my dogs and they loved them but they would only chew on the hard plastic which made their gums bleed like crazy. So I haven't let my dogs chew on them since the first time.
Weak don't waste your money If your dog likes to chew this toy won't last but a day. I suggest going with a stronger toy like a real Nylabone.
Not very tough This toy isn't as durable as it claims to be. I wanted my two dogs to play tug with it but it didn't even make it that far. My one dog got ahold of it and chewed pieces of the plastic off the end in about 20 minutes. The toy has been in a container ever since. Not worth wasting your money on.
DentaTug dog Toy I was not impressed with this toy. The ends are a very hard plastic which break under pressure from a small 15 pound dog! I do not recommend it and will not buy them again.
not tough enuff My Labrador chewed the ends off in 5 minutes but is still chewing the rope.
pretty good toy I purchase this because we have a 9 month old lab puppy with extremely sharp teeth and strong jaws. He tears up every toy within minutes except for a few choice toys. This has held up well and he has been able to play with this without tearing it up for at least a month so far.
Not durable My dog chewed the ends off on the first day. He even choked on a small piece that he chewed off. Not worth it if your dog is a chewer.
My dog hasn't destroyed it yet. This toy is standing up to my 75# dog who can easily destroy a toy. Had this toy about a month still in good shape.
