Monster proof ! This one is a winner ! After spending mega bucks for a wide variety of dog toys and ending up with a house full of stuffing and various arms and legs I finally found this line of toys. My dilemma is that our 8 month old mixed puppy 35 lb.s 20 inches tall at shoulders either doesn't like a particular toy or he will destroy it in an hour or less. I picked this toy out of the Tuffy Mega line up because it looked more versatile than the others. You can throw it like a frisbee or tie it to a rope and hang it from a tree limb or Bowflex. It has the right amount of give to be a satisfying chew toy and it has muffled squeakers that keep him interested without driving us insane. He sometimes will stop playing with a toy and start trying to surgically dissect it which he did with this one too but I stopped him before he got too far and trimmed off the frays with scissors. It has been ok since and has become his favorite toy.
Excellent quality for the price Is lasting longer than most chew toys even the smaller model. It is larger than the previous models so it is a better pull/tug toy.
Odin treat Our daughters Christmas list included this doggie toy. I asked her about it and she David that in a way it was for her. When she gets this for Christmas she will throw out his old ones and that will make her happy.
The only somewhat soft toy to survive more than 5 minutes. We've got a Doberman and a German Shepherd mix. These are pretty dedicated toy destroyers. These are dogs who get the hardest & largest nylabones on the market and turn them into tiny little shanks within a week and they only have access a couple hours a day.This toy has been accessible to the dogs a couple hours a day everyday since June it's now late October and it's showing no signs of having to be thrown out. I did have to trim loose threads on the edges a few times. Our Doberman occasionally picks at a tiny spot really goes at it and you can see he's going to damage it. If I tell him STOP PICKING he goes back to playing with it in a less damaging way or switches to his nylabones. We've trained him to know if he keeps doing what he was doing we take the toy away for a little while. Any dog who focuses on a centimeter with sharp teeth will eventually get through! The difference is we have time to notice he's doing this before it's totally destroyed with this toy. With others he's through in seconds.This toy gets some use every night. If you look at the customer pics and see the two dogs with their eyes poking out the center you get a feel for what goes on at our house every night. The German shepherd runs around the house with it like that trying to entice the Doberman into a tug of war. They eventually do tug the Doberman wins and then he tosses his head in victory & shakes the toy all around and then chews on it a bit.4 months. If you've got dogs who destroy plush toys in the seconds your back is turned you know just how long that is. Like all plush toys more like all toys period don't leave them alone with it for an hour. That pick at one spot thing is very effective and they will do it if you don't stop it.I picked this up on the recommendation of my sister who has a German Shepherd who couldn't destroy it. I didn't have high hopes for it but I have to admit this is an impressively tough toy and a household favorite unlike a few other indestructible toys that are definitely indestructible because no one will play with it.
One TUFF toy My dog is very destructive but loves squeaky things. I bought this with great doubts but it has survived beautifully! It still has some squeak and he has only managed to gnaw at the edging. I'm VERY impressed and he loves it so much I call it his Precious. One ring to rule them all.
Lasted almost a year with two Goldens playing tug We got this ring as a Christmas present for our two golden retrievers. The older one was 10.5 at the time and the younger one was two. They like to play and roughhouse. They love this toy! They will play tug with it while you hold it they gang up on you but they also like to play with it together without a person. My older dog likes to tear apart soft toys and he's never had a plush toy that has lasted more than a few weeks. This toy lasted almost a year until they finally got through the outer cover and started to pull out the stuffing. While not indestructible I was very satisfied with how long it lasted. I'm planning on buying another one for Christmas this year.
Not durable. Waste of money. We bought this toy for our dog for Christmas and within an hour he had it ripped open. The stuffing all came out as well. Not a strong or durable toy. Assuming the toy was tested by tigers we thought it would hold up a bit longer than 1 hour. Don't waste your money.
Tuffy Toys Seller did a great job shipping item and item was in perfect condition upon arrival. This toy did not last long though with my 2 60 pound pitbulls who are big chewers. It did hold up longer than the mega octopus though. Probably a great toy for lesser chewers.
Lasted 10 minutes I was hopeful for this item. However it lasted all of 10 minutes. The seam on the outer edge is poorly made. Our golden retriever had the stuffing pulled from this in 10 minutes. Very disappointing.
