Cheap material The first time I purchased this product for my dog was in 2005. I have a female Rottweiler and figured that the product would only last a couple of day's. To my surprise it lasted nearly a year before she was able to bite her way into to mechanism inside. I purchased two more of these with the same result and then the store quit carrying this item. Recently I found the toy online and purchased two of them. Both have proven to be not nearly as well made as they were a few years ago. In less than an hour she destroyed both balls. The reason is because the ball used to have a thicker rubber coating and no seam which appeared to make the ball able withstand the powerful jaws of a Rottweiler. Now it appears that the company is skimping on quality while increasing the price and decreasing it's durability. This product is definitely NOT for large breeds regardless of what the manufacturer states DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! This product could prove to be dangerous to your dog.
bummed Great idea and would have been a great buy if it didn't break. If your dog is a heavy chewer then I would definitely not reccomend this item. It broke the very first night the dog played with it. If your dog is not a chewer and you are just looking for a ball to play fetch with then I would guess this will work. Just don't know because the boxer that I bought this for cracked it in half after a couple of chews.
Dog toy Caution My dog loves toys that blink wink and make noise. He loves to chase this type of object. However the construction of this items last all of 5 seconds. My dog grabbed it one time and squeezed and the item fell apart. This item is definitely for a little dog with a small mouth any dog bigger it is a waste of money.
Not for large dogs! The lights on this ball lasted maybe an hour and the sound about 5 minutes. It's safe to say this ball is meant for a chihuahua and not an 8 month old doberman. The picture of a Dalmatian on the packaging is completely misleading. The ball itself is still together and can be tossed etc but the circuitry inside is worthless. Even if the circuitry had lasted there is no way to open it to put in a new battery at all.
Lots of fun for 5 minutes Our first couple of Zap balls lasted months. We bought six not long ago a few to give as gifts. Three in a row lasted only about 5 minutes before our dogs broke them in half. Our friends had the same experience. The dogs love them for 5 minutes literally 5 minutes. No longer a good buy. Too bad.
not happy I have been buying these balls for year in stores and this time I ordered the same balls for my dogs on line. After playing with the balls for about five min. I picked up the ball and the seam was open I took it away from them I had ordered four balls and I gave them another one the same thing happened I will never ordered them again on line .
Defective I was really looking forward to receiving this ball. When I did it lit up twice and then died within 15 minutes. I was told I couldn't receive a return label because it worked when I bought it..really? You suck.
The only ball my dog will play with I have had several of these over the years. Started using in the winter evenings for the ability to see at the dog park. My dog loves the feel and will walk away from any other ball. She chases it and loves it. Beware there are small batteries inside so make sure your dog does not get too long to chew on.
laser flashing ball My dog loves this toy. It's the only toy he will play with my other dog plays with anything and everything. This oneonly this toy. I got him from someone else and he came with this toy. He played with it so much it got destroyed. I couldn't find it anywhere in my town so I went to trusty Amazon to find it. And waala! there it was. My Kacey is a happy guy again. oThe ball makes noises kinda like an alien and it flashes. It gets a little annoying at times so I put it away to save my sanity. But again Kacey is a happy guy now that he has his ball again. So it's worth a little annoyance here and there.
