Dog didn't read the instructions I thought this would be a great toy for my smart & active pit. Unfortunately she didn't read the instructions on how she was supposed to play with it. The idea is for the dog to bop the toy around and use problemsolving to coax the kibbles out. However my dog's problemsolving involved chewing the yellow cap off and chugging down the kibbles. It took less than 10 minutes for her to find the weak spot and destroy the toy. If your dog isn't a strong chewer this is probably a great toy. However if your dog is a strong chewer she probably will do what my dog did.
Not for my husky My dog figured out how to open the trap and continuously tried to twist the top off within the first 30 min. She is a husky a very strong chewer since she was a baby she is only 1.5 and she picks up tricks fairly quickly but nothing spectacular. I thought this toy would challenge her. It didn't and I returned it for the the large cube that has a puzzle inside. That seems to be working.
Great Product! Recommended. This was purchased for my then 9 week old Catahoula puppy. He's now 6 months old so it's been in constant use 23 meals a day for that period of time. All of his meals are via the BobALot. It took him about two days to get it initially then he went through a phase where he was pretty rough with it. At this point he just noses it constantly to get the food out when it has food in it. It probably takes him 1520 minutes to eat 2.5 cups of food from it. He's not a big chewer and he hasn't tried to really chew on it. All of that said it's a little grimy but otherwise has held up amazingly well. As a working breed we try to incorporate as much activity as possible into his schedule and this helps with that goal. It also prevents him from eating the food very fast since it dispenses a few pieces at a time. I would definitely replace this if something happened to it and would recommend it to others. The only thing that isn't great is that the dog rolls it around a large area to get the food out better if you have a wood or tile floored area where you can confine the BobALot.
Love it We bought this toy for our golden last year she got it right away but luckily has not figured out how to get the top off as other reviewer's dogs have done. We stopped using it for awhile when we switched dog food since the bigger food could not fit through the bottom but have since bought some smaller food to put in here as a predinner snack.
Challenging.for a few minutes I had high hopes for this product because my cockerspaniel mix puppy 11 mos becomes bored eating her highquality food frustrating!and would sometimes rather not eat. I enjoyed watching her bat it around and see the kibble slowly trickle out. She acted like each piece of dog food was a liver treat. This product is sturdy and wellmade except for the purple adjustable opening. My dog quickly learned that she can position the BobALot up against a wall or chair then adjust the slide with her teeth thus making the opening so large that all the kibble just flows out. I appreciate the idea to make the opening adjustable to accommodate different sized food and treats it just needs to be harder so that the dog isn't the one making the adjustment.
It is so indestructable it is destroying my floor Purchased for my 90 lb dog he enjoys it and so far it has held up well however it is so heavy that it actually has dented my wood floors.
Dog treat dispenser Ii bought this for my 1 year old Lab. It's sturdy and can withstand her pouncing chewing gnawing etc. She learned how to get the treats out pretty quickly. You can then adjust the opening so that it's a little more difficult for the treats to fall out. It's another toy to help entertain your dog and keep them busy and learning new things.
Somewhat challenging Our beagle found this interactive toy somewhat challenging. It keeps him occupied for about 15 minutes depending on how many treats are used. Since he's a beagle it is necessary to limit his intake of food in order to maintain a healthy weight. Beagles do not know when to stop eating. Take care not to open the feed doors bigger than needed to let the treats pass otherwise they come out all at once and there is no challenge at all.
sure keeps him busy when I want !!! This thing is great!! we have had it about 2 months now our shepard pup has easily figured it out. It really is his favorite entertainment and with about 2 cups of kibble it last for 30 mins anytime i want him busy this is the go to toy.takes a minute or two to fill and the adjustable openings are great easy at first then harder and the dog can now lift it and carry it out of a stuck spot can't do that with the kong its not soft or plyable but its tough been rolled down steps no harm and I love the way it entertains him.
Not for the chewer I bought this from a local pet store and thought it would be perfect for my dog. It was easy to put treats in and he caught on quickly. Being able to make it harder helped occupy him longer. However my dog is a chewer. Once he couldn't get treats out easily he would chew on the top yellow cap. With him chewing on this caused the cap to become unscrewed. After that first unscrewing he was able to do it more often hence defeating the purpose of the toy.
